I was in the store, and on they way out, there was a jug of money with a sign on it, asking people to donate money to help the earthquake victims in haiti, i thought nobody was looking, i walked past it, put my hand in it, and took all the paper money i could grab at once.
One of the customers grabbed me and had me in a retraint on the cement. Other customers came alone and held me in a restrint until the police got there. I was laying on the floor, and 100s of people saw me, and i couldnt get up. This was a total nightmare, I was so humilated.
I was arrested, and released with paperwork. I have to appear in court on feb 9th. I hope i just a warning.
I needed the money, to goto the casino. I was going to goto Tropicana Casino in A.C. tomorrow with friends, and i needed money to play with.
They let the guys who pinned me, go free? Can I press charges against them, to throw them in jail?
They took the money off me, and put it back in the fund. They counted and, it was $982 exact. They got the money back, so i dont understand why i was arrested??
Can I file a lawsuit against wal mart for allowing this?
They did not intervine, they allowed the customers to pin me to the floor.
If I knew i was going to get caught, i wouldnt have done it.
Do you think i was just get probation?

NO you can not file charges against anyone. The people who restrained you were within their legal rights as American citizens protecting others from crime and making a citizens arrest. You committed a crime… you are lucky they didn’t charge you with a felony. You can’t file a lawsuit against Wal-Mart as again you were committing a crime and the store had nothing to do with the reaction of the citizens.
Boo Hoo you were humiliated. I think they should ship you off to Haiti and let you see what it is really like. You sound like a spoiled brat …. I think this is a fabrication (lie) you know that walmart has security cameras. Using the money for your family’s food might be of interest to a lawyer to help you, but for gambeling..not a.
