Chase Credit Card Ripoff Scam (part 1)

July 11th, 2009

In this video, I explain how corrupt of a financial institution Chase Bank is. This is not just my opinion, but the opinion of thousands of others that have filed complaints and class action lawsuits against this financial juggernaut.

I missed one payment. I had a super record with this company for eight solid years. One missed payment brought my minimum payment up three times. I went from an 8.45% interest rate to 29.99%. When I called the company to negotiate, all three parties refused to change anything. In the past, all other creditors behaved amicably; not this company though.

Boycott Chase at all costs, and tell your friends what their real plan is. They are preparing for the worst economic collapse in 2009, and by ridding themselves of customers, they limit their liabilities. After all, no job equals no way in to pay your minimum payments. I believe this is their plan.

    Stevehola,
    You …

    Stevehola,
You obviously don’t know what you are talking about. Chase credit cards are the better cards to have out there. If you were to ask someone that had a WAMU accnt that was in a past due status what their interest was they will probably tell you that their interest was at a 34.99% or higher. After chase bought them their interest were lowered, it may have not been by much but they were lowered. So if you didn’t read the whole application before applying that is your fault.

to Stevehola. I heard your story,i know you feel.
but you got to know, policies is policies.first they charge you for the late fee,is your fault, don’t sit there crying.late is late is doesn’t matter.Second don’t you read they statement on the back of application.Third don’t you watching the news, talking all about credit card, and creditor. I off too if any company charge me a late fee.but you better paid on time,is doesn’t matter where you go,if you pay late, they still charge you

    Chase knows what …
Chase knows what they are doing. They made sure that the increase was legal, and soon other credit card companies will follow. Chase knows that 80% of consumers will pay their bill, and the other 20% will default. This has already been planned out. Also it will get rid of the high risk customers that have been lingering around to long. And 50% of you who have said “Iv’e never been late” that’s bull. They know better than that. And no, Chase will not go out of business if you close your acct.

    Interesting on how …
Interesting on how that works. I would definitely go that route but it scares the *&** out of me to think I will get lawsuit calls and all kinds of litigation stuff. From what I hear you pretty much stop paying ALL your cards and put your “saved” money in a trust/savings fund to pay the cards from once the debt is settled by whichever settlement company you choose to represent you. I am still current (for another month anyway) on my bills and really hate to screw that up. Any suggestions anyone?

    You are not alone. …
You are not alone. I got the letter, too, as did thousands of others. I upheld my end of the bargain but Chase didn’t and now they’re screwing me and thousands of others. I’m with you. I will NEVER, EVER do business with this criminal, loan sharking organiztion again. Spread the word! This company needs to be put out of business!

    Got this same …
Got this same letter myself. Looks like they are trying force their customers into default. I wonder if they are insured against these losses through CDS contracts or some similar instrument. If this is the case then I can understand why they are doing this. If this is how it works they get paid off by the CDS writer then sell the debt to collection agency for a fraction of the face value. Under this scenario you should be able to settle your debt for much less than what you “owe”.

    Got a letter today …
Got a letter today saying my minimum payment would jump from 2% to 5% of my remaining balance. That’s more than DOUBLE the original payment! On top of that over the last month I got almost an 8% pay reduction at work. Thanks Chase. I hope you reap what you are sowing. The FASTER the BETTER! I am going to have to sell some things but I WILL and CHASE will get no more of my business after that. Thanks for posting this Steve. Wish everyone who has been screwed by CHASE would post here.

    1. take her name, keep the operator on phone AS LONG AS you can. they will ask “Is there anything else?” say “Yes, i’m checking my statement / online, please wait…”
    2. I was able to make the operator listen to this recording + my made up conversation.
    Total minutes: 45 minutes.
Call whenever you need to offload your bad day. Twice a week should be good. of course the longer you’re on the line, the higher the cost of their CS operation.
MAKE THEM HIRE MORE PEOPLE TO TAKE OUR !!!!

    Yeah, these …
Yeah, these predatory lenders are such stellar citizens. Chase’s sole purpose is to force people out of their homes or into bankruptcy. Their specialty is forcing old people out into the street. They are criminal s who are using the Obama bailout to line their pockets.

They did the same thing to me. Raised my interest from 9 percent with WAMU to 29 percent with Chase. Never a late payment, always paid more than minimum, and paid it completely off multiple times per year.

    Eff them.

    They did the same …
They did the same thing to me. I had a WAMU card, which I LOVED. WAMU was great. Chase takes it over and raise the rate to 29.99%. They changed the payment due date (that I’ve had for years) in their transition time when the WAMU site was down. s!

    ok this my last …
ok this my last post because that guys voice is annoying. you talk about companies are crooks. this coming from people who will borrow money and default and expect nothing to happen. people that wants card with no annual fee and plenty rewards but when they are late or over limit can’t accept that there is a fee. you don’t think that much differently than big companies. only difference you’re the one getting the shaft and not the other way around that’s why it’s not fair.

    I use to work for a …
I use to work for a credit card company and i can tell you all you people talking is because you have no knowledge of how the financial system works. all you do is and moan instead of saying to yourself. Did I read the terms of the card? the answer is no. then what is the other thing you say. who reads all that crap. well you should. it’s in your best interest. when you get a mortgage you probably don’t read the terms either. when you get life insurance don’t read either. smartass
