Who can a 16 yr old get a car loan from(he has a settlement coming at 18)?

November 13th, 2009

My grandson needs a loan to get his license, get insurance and to buy a car,is there any banks or institutions that will give him a loan until he receives his settlement.

Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool – carquotes.fateback.com

He could get a load with a cosigner (ie parent or guardian)

No one will loan a minor money. They can’t sign contracts. Even if they could, do you expect a lender to just wait 2 years for their money?
Have him get a job and earn those things like the rest of us.

A minor can void a contract at any time. Because of this, it is extremely unlikely that any bank would offer him credit – even if he has an adult as a cosigner.
